  1.  GENERAL 

All golfers must adhere to the regulations detailed herein
  1. All Reference in these regulations to the Director of Golf shall also refer to his     appointed deputies.
  2. The instructions of Golf Course Starter & Marshall must be followed at all times.
  3. Following a course inspection, the Golf Advisory Committee, Director of Golf and his deputies may close the golf course due of inclement weather conditions and in such circumstances appropriate notices shall be placed in the Proshop, on the 1st tee, the Website and other tools of communication. The golf course is ordinarily inspected at intervals during the day with a view to re-opening at the earliest opportunity.
  4. The use of Golf Carts and trolley may be restricted to protect the golf course and in such circumstances appropriate notices will be placed in the Proshop, on the 1st tee and the Website.
  5. Dogs shall not be allowed on the course or on the premises at any time.
  6. Members are forbidden to trespass on lands adjoining the course, race track and the grounds of the Hunting and Equestrian club. (Except for immediate retrieval of stray ball.)
  7. Use of Mobile Phones on the Course is forbidden except for emergency situations
  8. Adult (M) should use the tee markers blue/black as appropriate. Adult (F) should use the Red markers. Seniors over the age of 65 should use the white markers. Juniors under the age of 10 should use the Red markers and between the ages of 10 to 12 should use the white markers. Juniors above the age of 12 are classified as using the Adult tee markers
  9. Each player must have his/her own set of clubs.
  10. Players shall not “cut in” on any part of the course unless approved by the Marshal. Normally rounds will start from holes 1 and 10 as designated by the Starter or Marshal
  11. Empty cans, bottles etc., must be deposited in bins provided. 
  12. Cigarette butts to be disposed of properly.
  13. Behavior or language likely to cause offence is not acceptable.
  14. For safety and Insurance reasons, and to avoid causing inconvenience to other members and visitors, children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and remain in the company of their guardians at all times.
  15. Renovation and maintenance work will be conducted periodically on the golf course that could possibly limit the access of our members and guests to the golf course. As this is a necessary work that must be conducted in order to maintain a healthy golf course, Sahara Management will not provide any compensation to memberships and Green Fees.
 
2 - TEE TIMES
 
  1. Club members, in accordance with the privileges of each membership type, must reserve tee times in advance through the Pro-shop or On-Line. (VENUE MEMBERS 14 days in advance; everyone else 7 days in advance)
  2. Each member is allowed to book a maximum for four players on each booking (including him/her self). The names of all players playing in any match must be registered at the time of reservation. Booking under GUEST will not be accepted; Names must be provided.
  3. All golfers must register at the Pro-shop before their round of Golf
  4. The Pro-shop staff must approve Tee time changes. The Director of Golf and his Deputies reserves the right to allocate or change times according to availability, or for any other reasons.
  5. One-ball, two-ball and three-ball may play at the discretion of the Director of Golf and his Deputies otherwise only four-balls are permitted at all times.
  6. One-ball, two-ball and three-ball will be grouped with other players at the discretion of the Director of Golf and his Deputies or reservation staff.
  7. All cancellations of tee times must be made at least 24 hours in advance. The club reserves the right to charge any person for tee times not taken and not cancelled in accordance with these rules. A member is responsible to any no show charges of his guest.
  8. Members that NO-SHOW for their Tee Times will be issued a Warning Letter reminding them of their duty to cancel in case they cannot make their Tee Times. If the same Member is a NO-SHOW for a second time, then a Visitor Green-Fee will be charged to the member.
  9. Visitors will pay for the Tee Time Booking in advance, If the visitor cancels 24 hours in advance, a full refund in the form of Club Credit will be given. Incase of NO-SHOW then Visitor a Green-Fee will be charged.
  10. Voucher Holders will deposit Green Fee Vouchers at the pro shop 24 hours prior to their Tee Time to guarantee the Tee Time booking.
  11. Tournaments organized by groups without the knowledge of Sahara Management will not be permitted without prior approval.
 
3-  COMPETITIONS -  GENERAL
 
  1. Bookings must be accompanied by membership numbers or name and must be made only in respect of those who are committed to playing in the competition.
  2. Members are responsible for advising those on whose behalf they have booked times.
  3. Cancellations or changes to booking arrangement to be made at least 24 hours in advance. Competition fee may be charged for late cancellations.
  4. Timesheet time is Tee-off time: members are expected to check in minimum 15 minutes in advance.
  5. Members are responsible for keeping in touch with the Pro Shop if their name is on a waiting list.
  6. Corporate Golf Tournament host reserves the right to invite golfers to play their event. Membership at Sahara does NOT guarantee participation in Corporate events.
  7. All scheduled competitions will be posted in the Pro-shop two weeks in advance.
  8. No walking allowed, Only Golf Carts are permitted during competition
 
REGULATIONS
 
  1. Winners and Runners-up in Club competitions will receive prizes presented by the Golf Advisory Committee and /or representatives from Sahara Management.
  2. In the event of a tie in ranking in any club competition, the order will be decided on the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes, stroke index holes, as appropriate
  3. Groupings, timings and names will be announced 24 hours prior to the tournament, no changes and exceptions will be made once announced.
  4. Entry fee must be paid and name entered in competition book before playing in any competition. No member will be eligible to receive a prize unless his/her current annual subscription is fully paid.
  5. Sahara Management in coordination with Golf Advisory Committee reserves the right to cancel any competition if a sufficient number of entries is not received and also to postpone, alter or abandon any competition.
  6. Members joining the Club in the current year will not be eligible to participate in any official club tournament unless they have an official handicap (minimum 3 witnessed score cards)
  7. The Club accepts no responsibility for prizes not collected at time of presentation. Uncollected prizes will be forfeited. It is the responsibility of players to ascertain if they have won a prize. Players who are unable to attend prize giving’s may nominate someone to collect a prize on their behalf or the club may hold the prize for maximum 1 week.
 
4. MATCH-PLAY COMPETETIONS
 
  1. Draws for Match-play Competitions will be posted on the notice board.
  2. All match-play competitions must start from the first tee or advised by the Golf Director or his Deputies
  3. In the event of tie holes, the 1st shall be the 19th and the match shall continue until a hole is won, checking strokes as on the card.
  4. When a competitor’s handicap has been adjusted on his score in a qualifying round, he must play on the adjusted handicap in the subsequent match-play rounds of that competition, or in any other competition in which he may be playing.
  5. In a match-play competition the onus is on the player(s) at the top of the draw to make contact in order to arrange a suitable date to ensure that the match is decided on or before the date set for each round. In the absence of a posted result the bottom name(s) will advance. Only in exceptional circumstances will there be an extension beyond the set date.
  
5. PRACTICE
 
  1. Practice is not permitted on the golf course other than on areas specifically allocated for such purpose.
  2. Driving Range Regulations:
  1. Everyone using the Driving Range must register at the Pro Shop first.
  2. 2 Tokens/receipt will be issued to Members; additional Tokens/receipt will be provided if needed.
  3. 1 Token/receipt will be provided to Visitors and Voucher users. Additional Tokens will be purchased at additional cost as per Sahara approved price list.
  4. Range balls provided by the club only may be used on the driving range; Personal practice balls are not allowed on the driving range.
  5. Range balls may not be used on the golf course.
  6. Balls must be hit in designated areas only.
  7. The Director of Golf or his Deputies is authorized to restrict or control use of the driving range at busy periods.
  8. Proper golf attire is required at all times on the driving range.
  9. The facilities of the putting green and practice ground are for members, guests and fee-paying visitors only.
  10. Smoking on the driving range is restricted to the seating areas provided and should not be pursued on the hitting areas.
 
6. PACE-OF PLAY
 
  1. The player shall play without undue delay. It is the responsibility of all golfers to ensure that they keep no more than one hole or ten (10) minutes behind the match in front of them.
  2. If the match fails to keep its place on the course and loses more than clear hole with the players in front, they must allow the following match to play through.
  3. Penalty: (this is meant only for competition)
    1. Stroke play – Two strokes Penalty
    2. Repeated offence – Disqualification
    3. Inconsiderate slow play is considered to be objectionable conduct which could result in Disqualification
  4. When play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the green and proceed towards the next hole
  5. Players searching for a ball should signal the players behind them to pass as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not easily be found. They should not search for five minutes before doing so.
  6. If there is a doubt about a ball being “out of bounds” or lost outside of a hazard, players should play a “provisional ball” before proceeding to expedite the game
  7. All players must obey the request of the Golf Course Marshall.
  8. All players who stop after playing nine (9) holes for any reasons must occupy the next tee before the following group arrives on the tee otherwise it must allow the following group through.
  9. Cutting-in is not permitted at any time. Specific approval from the Starter is required to begin play on any hole including the first.

7. DRESS CODE ON THE GOLF COURSE
 
Appropriate golf attire is required on the golf course for all players at all times. The following dress code will apply,
  1. Men – shirts with collars and sleeves are required at all times.
  2. Slacks or golf shorts must be worn
  3. Tank tops, collarless t-shirts, fishnet tops, cut-offs, sweat pants denim clothing, bathing suits, athletic shorts, dishdashes and tennis shorts are not permitted on the Golf Course
  4. Women – dresses, skirts, slacks, golf shorts and golf shirts or blouses must be worn.
  5. Halter tops, t-shirt, cut-offs sweat pants, athletic shorts, tennis shorts, bathing suits and denim clothing are not permitted on the Golf Course
  6. Shoes – appropriate golf shoes must be worn at all times.
  7. The Dress Code is MANDATORY for all players. Improperly dressed person will not be allowed on the golf course. If in doubt, the players should consult the ProShop staff before commencing play.  
CLUBHOUSE.        
  1. In the clubhouse, neat dress is expected. If casual dress is worn it should be neat and tidy and in keeping with the high standards of the clubhouse environs.
  2. Appropriate footwear must be worn: spike golf shoes are not permitted upstairs.
 
8. PLAYING ABILITY
 
The club reserves the right to refuse access to the golf course to any persons who fails to satisfy the Director of Golf/ Golf Operations Team that he or she possesses sufficient ability to play to a satisfactory and acceptable standard.
 
9. WALKING & GOLF CARTS
 
  1. Golfers may walk and carry their bags or use pull trolleys.
  2. The club reserves the right to suspend walking and insist on the use golf carts at any time at its sole discretion.
  3. A member or any other person without proper registration and authorization shall not use golf carts.
  4. Golf carts may not be used off the golf course and should not be driven into car parking area.
  5. Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted to drive a cart unless a parent member sign a consent form.
  6. No more than two (2) persons and two (2) sets of golf clubs are permitted on a golf cart.
  7. A group of golfers consisting 3 or 4 players shall be restricted to the use of two (2) golf carts per tee-time. A group of two (2) golfers shall be restricted to one (1) cart per tee time unless otherwise authorized by the Director of Golf/Golf Operations Team.
  8. Golf carts must be used on car paths provided. Golf carts must not be driven on sand areas except where specifically signposted.
  9. Golf carts must obey all traffic signs and should not approach with in thirty (30) yards of any tee or green except where a cart path so permits.
  10. Soft areas on the golf course should be avoided especially after rain or recent irrigation.
  11. Operation of a golf cart is at the sole risk of the driver.
  12. Any person using a golf cart will be held fully responsible for any and all injuries (including death) to persons and loss of, or damage to the golf cart, caused by the use of the golf cart by that person, and that person shall reimburse the club and any operator of the for any and all damages, costs, claims, losses, liabilities or expenses that the club may sustain by reason of such use. In the case of a member’s guest incurring such damage, the member will be liable for such payment.
  13. Private golf carts are not permitted on the golf course.
 
10. HANDICAPS
 
  1. CONGU is the handicap system used at Sahara, all the requirements of CONGU is implemented in computing a golfer’s Handicap.

  3. 3 Score cards must be completed in order to get an official Handicap
  4. At least 4 completed score cards must be handed in within 60 day period in order to maintain an official handicap for tournament purposes.
  5. Players with registered Tee Times MUST hand in their signed score card immediately after their Round at the Pro Shop or by entering it in person in the computer provided at the Pro Shop.
  6. Failing to hand in a signed Score Card after a registered Tee Time will result in the Round being considered at PAR and thus the Handicap will be adjusted accordingly.
 
11. ETIQUETTE
 
All golfers are expected to abide by the accepted standards of etiquette including but not restricted to the following:
 
  1. Players are required to smooth out bunkers, replace divots and repair their ball mark on the greens
  2. Do not play until the group in front is out of range.
  3. Do not waste time – players should be ready to hit shots when turn to play.
  4. Players should leave a green immediately after holing out.
  5. When a group behind is invited to play through, play should stop until that group is out of range.
  6. All players should follow the accepted rule of care of the golf course.  
  • Repair all pitch marks on the greens.
  • Fill divots on the fairways and in the rough with the sand available.
  • Rake bunkers after use.
  • Take care when removing and replacing flagsticks.
  • Never drop litter on the course – use the litter bins provided.
  • Dispose cigarettes/cigars in the litter bins and astray provided.  
  1. Course Closed’ and ‘Hole Closed’ signs and all directional signs must be adhered to at all times.
  
12. SPECTATORS
 
  1. Nonplayers are not permitted to walk, run or cycle the course
  2. The club retains the right to authorize spectators to walk on the golf course in designated areas during certain tournaments as so advertised from time to time.
 
13. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURES
 
  1. Any member who feels aggrieved and wishes to lodge a formal complaint must submit in written form to the Golf Advisory Committee Member(s). At each committee meeting time will be allocated to review such submissions, where appropriate investigation and clarification will be sought.
  2. In all circumstances answers to such complaints must be responded to the complainant no later than two committee meetings from the first reading of such irregularity raised.
 
14. NOTICES
 
No notice or document of any kind shall be placed on the Notice Board, Proshop, unless it is authorized by the Sahara Management.
 
15. CLUBHOUSE AND CAR PARK
 
  1. The Clubhouse will normally be open by 5:45 a.m. each day and will close at 11 p.m. The management reserves the right to change these timings at any given time without prior notice.
  2. Golf equipment shall not be taken into or left in any of the rooms upstairs or hallway except the Pro shop.
  3. No notice, document or advertising materials shall be displayed in or removed from the Clubhouse without the approval of Sahara Management
  4. Members lounge: The lounge will open according to the timing of the proshop
  5. Children under 12 years of age are not permitted in the Members lounge without supervision.
  6. Lockers are provided for daily use and keys must be left in locks when not in use or with reception for non members
  7. Members entitled to Annual lockers are responsible for them
  8. Parking in the car park is entirely at owner’s risk.
  9. Vehicles should only be parked in designated spaces provided.
  10. Venue members are entitled to complimentary Valet Service available from 4pm to 11pm upon presenting the membership card.
     
16. CONDUCT OF MEMBERS
 
  1. All Members are required to pay every expense they incur in the club before they leave Sahara
  2. The Club will accept no responsibility for the property of any Member or Visitor on the Club premises with the exception of clubs and equipment left under the care and supervision of Sahara resort management.
  3. Any suggestion regarding the course or running of the Club shall be made to the Golf Advisory Committee, who shall bring the matter to the attention of the appropriate authority.
